Blog This challenge...

Blog This - Challenge Number 7: Fifteen Facts

Tell us fifteen fascinating, far fetched, frightening, funny or frivolous facts about yourself. Those bits of trivia that are floating around in your life.

Can you eat 10 burgers in one sitting? Do you sleep with your eyes open? Can you tie a cherry stalk into a knot? Speak 5 different languages?

All those things that you've bored your friends and family with for years - We want to know.

  1. I am a qualified ballet teacher (actually, it's probably not valid anymore seeing as I did that exam when I was 16).
  2. I used to sleepwalk (and sleep talk) - a lot!! and sleep with my eyes half open. Freaked my family out quite a bit and my hubby is quite happy that I don't do it anymore - much anyway!
  3. I always wanted to have two children by the time I was 30 - I didn't think that was going to happen until I found out I was having twins!
  4. When I was trying to work out what I wanted to do in high school, I was tossing up the idea of being a Kindy (Prep) teacher. Thankfully that never came to fruition: my own children of that age drive me insane daily - how would I have coped with 25 of them??
  5. Matthew McConaughey spoke to me when I was on holidays in Port Douglas a couple of years ago. Actually he commented to me how cute my twins were when we walked past (they were pushing their own prams along). I can have that can't I?? And then he rode past us later on his bike with his shirt flapping open..... oh the memories.....
  6. I used to be a Travel Consultant until I had my third child and resigned. My god I miss the freebies and social life that came with it, sometimes....
  7. I was just on TV recently for the BrisStyle segment on The Great South East. Click here if you missed it (look out for my twins doing a bit of modelling).
  8. My husband and I went to school together for two years but barely spoke a word to each other. It wasn't until after school that we actually got to know and like each other through mutual friends. We've been together for 14 years and married for 6 years - it takes some people a loooong time!!!
  9. I love nothing better than reading the paper in the mornings with a cup of coffee once the kids are fed and watching a few cartoons. I'm devastated if the paper is delivered late!!
  10. I never thought I'd be designing and making children's clothes. I was going to say "for a living" at the end of that sentence but I don't think I can actually call it that yet!
  11. I love a good soppy romantic movie.
  12. I think it's fantastic the ways songs can make you soooo happy, and sad and create so many emotions in just a couple of minutes.
  13. I hate runny egg yolk. Makes me want to vomit.. I'm not a fussy eater except for that and I'm always telling people to break the yolk so it all cooks through.
  14. I've just discovered I'm great at cooking quiche. I've never really cooked a good one before until I decided to try using sour cream instead or normal cream.
  15. I grew up in Casino, Northern NSW.
Wow, that was a lot harder than I thought. Back to the sewing now...

Favourite Photo of yourself tag...

I was tagged last week by the lovely Tina over at Little Mimoo for the latest fun blogger challenge.

It was originally started by Fat Mum Slim and these are her words:

It's really simple. I love how every photo tells a story. Some short stories, some long tales. I want to know what is your favourite photo of yourself. Everyone has one. The photo they look at and smile. It reminds them of something, some time, some place. A moment in time.

So share the photo, share the story and then tag three other people. I want to see photos and stories all around the blogosphere.

This is my favourite photo of myself - with straight hair!! Those of you who have met me understand how bizarre this is as I have very very curly hair. I was at my sister-in-law's one day and she had her friends' hair straightener so we thought we'd give it a go on my hair - and amazingly it only too 10 minutes... loved it !

oh, and I thought I should add a photo of me with curly hair too... I love this one too of me and my husband at a wedding up at Maleny last year..

Now the next part of my job is to tag three others to join in the challenge. So, I choose:

Flirty Bird
Jogirl's Journey
Mama Loves to Shop

I'll be back soon with a wrap-up from the weekend markets...

Creative Challenge Revealed....

You might remember a month or so ago I signed up for the "Handmade Kids" Creative Challenge - read the post here. I was sent a lovely little package with fabric, felt and ribbons and my first thought was to make one of my Snigglebottom's, as of course they are made from fabric and felt with a little ribbon around their waist.

But then I thought that would be too easy and I needed to challenge myself to make something else. So here she is..... meet Betsy-Lou:

You can read the blog post here on the Handmade Kids website. Betsy-Lou will be part of a giveaway on their website at the end of June.

My next creative challenge....

I feel like I've been doing the same thing over and over again recently so I felt like I needed something different to do. Then I read the Handmade Kids blog and they have started a fantastic thing called the "Clever People Challenge".

I put my hand up (well, replied to the post) to do the challenge and in the mail the other day I received my mission...

I've been sent this gorgeous little bundle of goodies and I've already drafted my ideas.

I have to create something especially for kids using some or all of the contents above. My creation will be back to Handmade Kids by the end of May and it will be done as a giveaway during June. Great idea heh !!

I'll keep you posted on how it's going and I guess we'll see if I really am clever.....
