Some new Customer Photos...

I've been sent some new customer photos recently that I thought I'd share with you all.

This first photo was sent to me by Deb from Fabricated, who is a fellow stallholder at the Boutique Markets. She makes, among other things, fabulous adults and kids handbags by recycling denim jeans and adding all sorts of embellishments. Click here to visit her blog.

This is her gorgeous daughter in one of my embellished singlets and a custom made skirt. Isn't she the cutest! I don't make top & skirt sets anymore but I'm always happy to custom make a skirt to go with a top or vice versa.

The next couple of photos were sent to me by Amber from Fresh Fabric Australia. Amber was lucky enough to win a giveaway from Handmade Kids which was the girls bundle of items that were part of the first Creative People's Challenge. In that bundle was my "Betsy-Lou" who I made just for this challenge.

Here's a photo of Amber's gorgeous 10 month old daughter deep in conversation with Betsy-Lou...

and here's a couple of her 2 year old son putting Betsy-Lou to bed...

I'm so glad she went to a good home where she is obviously well loved...

If you're looking for some beautiful fabrics, make sure you visit Amber's Etsy store Fresh Fabric Australia. Finally, someone opened a fabric store on Etsy based here in OZ... YAY!!

Lastly, if you have any photos you'd like to send, please email them to me at littlediva @ aapt.net.au (make sure you give me permission to put them on this blog and my Facebook Fan Page).

Usew2 on Etsy Front Page

I was kindly informed by the lovely Bettsy Kingston that my Usew2 Easy Peasy Girls Skirt Pattern & Kit made it to the front page of Etsy a couple of days ago. Here it is:

Not only that, but it was actually picked by Etsy Admin as part of a "DIY Projects under USD 40.00" treasury. YAY!!

Also, earlier in the week, the gorgeous Mee a Bee selected one of my Diva Dresses for her Etsy Treasury. Thanks Jacqui..

So, thank you everyone. I really can feel the love this week....

What a fabulous couple of days for Little Diva...

Little Diva has really been getting out there over the last couple of days.

Firstly my Butterfly Girls Skirt was picked for the "Made It" shopping guide.

Then the lovely Jo from Babyjo did a beautiful post on her blog.

Then, just as I was heading over to type this post, I checked my emails and there was one from Bec at Made It telling me that my new singlet tops had been featured on the Kids Style File website as part of the "Five Fabulous Finds: Cute as Pie Pieces for your Little Miss".

and if that isn't enough, my Easy Peasy Girls Skirt Pattern kit (one of my Usew2 Etsy Store items) was featured in an Etsy Gift Guide - "DIY Made Simple".

So, it's all very exciting and now I'd better go as the kids are screaming at each other in the background!! Ahhh, back to reality....

Kookie was created to showcase "Handmade in Australia" products and they also do product reviews and giveaways. So please visit their blog and support handmade in Australia.

The Snigglebottom's are also currently featured on the Haby Goddess blog . They are down the left hand side helping promote this very blog as "Craft Blog of the Week". Are you sick of the kids getting too much chocolate for Easter ??

What about giving them an Easter Bunny DIY Kit ?? I've made up some cute little packs of DIY Easter Bunnies to keep them occupied.

One I prepared earlier:

Here's what you receive in the pack:

* Easter Bunny pieces made from assorted quality craft paper/card - body, head, arms and legs (with pre-cut holes to attach)

* Jewels, sequence and bow for decoration

* Studs to attach bunny's movable limbs

* Pink cord to hang your finished masterpiece (approx 30cm finished)

All the bits and pieces come in a zip lock bag with instructions and picture of a finished Easter Bunny. By the way, I've left the face blank so the kiddies can draw their own bunny face.

Here's a couple that my daughters' did yesterday. They loved it...

So click here to purchase from my Markets Online store (AUD) or contact me directly. Edit: They are now also listed in my Etsy store so click here to go straight to the listing.

Oh, did I mention the FREE POSTAGE within Australia....

I'm so lucky....

I had the pleasure of spending a few hours yesterday with some of the fabulous ladies from BrisStyle. We had a lunch catchup to coincide with the 1st BrisStyle Anniversary - it started off with half a dozen like-minded crafty types and there are now 60 members !! Catherine from Made by Maisie organised a craft swap so we all set about making/creating a gift to do as a lucky dip swap.

I wrapped mine up in a fat quarter of fabric and tied some ricrac around it for some extra value and I can now reveal what I made.

This funky Citrus tea towel apron:

and also this double sided pin cushion:

Jade from Beckybean received my gifts and I hope she likes them. She'll definitely be able to put the pin cushion to good use making all of those fantastic handbags with her sister Bec. Check out their amazing creations for yourself.

Now onto the wonderful gift I received. Tracy from Hey Harriett put together this fantastic package:

How cute is that little Peace magnet and I just love the mini painted bird canvas - I think my daughters have claimed that one already !!

Below is a set of fantastic TTv photos. I was actually having a look at them just last week so it's pretty cool that I now have some of my own - if you want to see more visit Hey Harriett's Etsy shop. Now I just need to find a way to display them...

By the way, if you are wondering what TTv is (I had to look it up myself when I first heard it) it stands for Through the Viewfinder and the photos are taken through the viewfinder of one camera, with another camera.

Anyway, thanks to all the BrisStylettes for a fabulous day yesterday. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet/chat to everyone.

Victorian Bushfires and Australia's Generosity...

No doubt you all know by now of the horrific fires that have devastated parts of Victoria, Australia in the past week. It's a very sad situation and to date 181 people have lost their lives with many more still missing, huge amounts of wildlife have been wiped out and with a thousand homes burnt to the ground, there are many people who have been left homeless.

There are still 21 bushfire's currently burning across Victoria so the threat of more disaster is still there, particularly with more hot weather on the way next week. But the most sickening thing of all is the thought that some of the fires have been deliberately lit !! It's just unfathomable that someone could actually do that !!

My thoughts go out to those who have lost loved ones and their homes.

The great thing is Australians are amazing in times of need and even in these hard economic times, Australian businesses and individuals have so far managed to donate AUD $63 million dollars !! Help will be needed for quite some time so if you can spare some money, even a few dollars, please visit the Red Cross website to donate.

The crafting community has also organised many great auctions, toy donations and fundraising to help out. Handmade Help is a dedicated website you can visit to become involved - whether you're a crafter or want to help by making a purchase. There is also an Etsy site called Oz Bushfire Appeal where hundreds of items have been donated by Etsy sellers in Australia and Worldwide and proceeds will be going to the Red Cross. I donated two of my handmade cushions last night and I'm happy to say one has already sold. Click here to see the listing for the second one.

UPDATE 16FEB: They have now raised over AUD $10,000 through the Oz Bushfire Appeal Etsy store!!

Introducing.... Fabric Scrap Flopsy !!

My second attempt at my idea for using up fabric scraps definitely worked much better than the first - the trick is don't bother trying to sew round things (I can never get them smooth enough), just go square !!

So here it is - the affectionately named "Flopsy" :

In case you are wondering exactly what it is, I found it actually has a few different purposes. The main idea at the start was to make a toy with lots of floppy, taggy things as my 21-month-old son still loves playing with and holding tags, especially when going to sleep. However, I thought it would also be a great pin cushion as you could also keep your needles on the little floppy bits.

And thirdly, it actually makes quite a good frisbee !

Let me know what you think and do you think I should make some to sell ? If so, what should I actually market them as?
