Day 2 of the Stitches and Craft show and it's lots of fun meeting many crafty types. Thanks to the Little Diva blog followers who have dropped in to say "hi". It's great to meet you and hear of some of your sewing endeavours...
There's plenty to see in the Incubator section and lots of amazingly talented people. The lovely Kristy from Rourke and Henry bought one of my Diva Dresses/tops yesterday for her gorgeous daughter, Mackenzie and she wore it today:
Isn't she just the cutest!! I think we've got a bit of a model in the making here - no problem getting her to pose...
Here's a few of the Incubator stall holders and I'll post more in the next few days:
My neighbour at the show, Olivia from Scampsville (a fellow BrisStylette):
Justine from the fantastic craft zine, MixTape (If you are at the show visit her stall and pre-pay for issue 9 and she'll post it out for free...)
The lovely Fi from Dear Fii:
and I just had to take a close up of her gorgeous Ninja softies. Meet Ninja Sam:
two lovely gals sharing their stall; Narelle from Rellish who creates the beautiful wall art and Megan from Blossom Child who makes gorgeous children's clothes:
More to come over the next few days.
Also, there's a fantastic BrisStyle Promo available at the moment for anyone visiting the Stitches and craft show. Keep an eye out for the lovely ladies (including myself of course!!) sporting a BrisStyle badge and ask for your 10% discount voucher. This is valid in participating BrisStyle online stores until the end of May.

The sewing has stopped, temporarily...
Seeing as the Stitches and Craft show is only 3 days away I figured I had better stop sewing and start making sure I have all the little bits and pieces ready.
Buttons to be sewn onto dresses:
stickers to be put on paper bags (I thought I should do something eco-friendly so I got recycled brown paper bags):
patterns to be put together:
fabric to be cut to size for the skirt kits etc. Once that is all ready then I might be able to sew a few more things.
There is some amazing things happening at the show so if you haven't already, check out the website or click here for the list of retailers attending the Brisbane show, here for places to be, here for the fabulous craft labs and studios to be held (you can even pre-book a spot if you like); and here for ticket details (you can also pre-purchase your entry ticket).
See you there - Little Diva will be at stall 169 in the Incubator section..

Only 1 week to go....
Well, this time next week I'll be at the Stitches and Craft show here in Brisbane. It will be the first of what no doubt will be five tiring yet very exciting days.
I've got my stall setup sorted out and will be there on Tuesday to get it all ready. I won't spoil it by showing you any pics yet as it just doesn't look the same in my lounge room as I'm hoping the real thing will. Here's a couple more Snigglebottom's just about ready to go though (just need their little ribbon belts).
My only hiccup is a very frustrating encounter with an online fabric shop in the US. I received an email on 4th April advising my fabric order had been shipped. I was getting worried that I hadn't received it so I chased them up yesterday and got a reply that they don't know what happened but it was only just posted out on Monday !!!
The order was for quite a bit of fabric and I was going to make a few more dresses for the collection but a lot of it was for my DIY skirt kits that I'm putting together for the show. If only they had told me of their mistake, I would have had them send it some way that would get here quicker. Let's just hope it at least arrives next week !!
Anyway, here's just a little example of good and bad customer service that I have experienced recently:
Example 1: BAD - you know the story from above so basically they forgot to post my order; didn't bother to let me know; received a weak apology after I chased them up and nothing else. Actually the word sorry wasn't even mentioned, only "we are not sure what happened but it's on its way" - gee thanks !!
Example 2: EXCELLENT - I made a fabric purchase from another online fabric store based in the US a while back and once received I went through it all and noticed there was one part of the order missing. Just 2 yards of a particular fabric. I emailed them to advise them and would have been happy with a refund for that 2 yards. But not only did they post that 2 yards to me at their own expense but they also offered me a 30% discount off my next order.
We all know which shop I "won't" be going back to....
Anyway, it's a beautiful day here in sunny Brisbane and I have a 2 year old asleep and two 4 year olds about to have rest time, so I might head outside for a quite cuppa before getting into some more sewing and show preparation....

Huge Monday morning disappointment...
Our standard morning ritual consists of me and the kids having breaky (hubby has already left for work by the time we get up) and then they get to watch a few cartoons on the ABC and I get to have my morning coffee and read the newspaper.
But this morning when I went out to get the paper (we get it delivered) I was devastated to find it was nowhere to be seen. Not in the gutter, under the bushes, "in" the bushes - nowhere !!
So I'm feeling quite empty sitting here typing on the computer with my coffee instead of reading the paper. My, how easy it is to get attached to those little daily rituals. What's your daily ritual you just can't do without?
EDIT: 10 minutes after I got up from the computer, I looked out the window and there was the paper !! YAY - the day is looking up !! By the way, my coffee & newspaper time is definately not without interruption - but I can't just lock the kids outside.... can I?

Meet the Snigglebottom's...
They've multiplied already and they now have a name. The Snigglebottom family...
Their names from left to right are Migsy, Daisy, Ducky, Barney, Pinkie, Leroy, Mingy, Delilah and Lacey.
and here's my son Harry having a little chat to a few of them !!
I plan on making some more and I'll be selling them at the Stitches and Craft show. After that I'll be listing them in my Etsy and Markets Online stores (if there's any left of course...)

Stitches and Craft Update
I just realised that once Easter is over next week, it's only two weeks until the Stitches and Craft show. I could add a few of these right now, **** ****, but I'm trying to stay calm.
I'm struggling to stay on one line of thought - I'll be busy sewing and then I'll think of something great for my stall and all of a sudden I'm on the computer for 40 minutes trying to find what I'm after... concentrate, concentrate !!
Anyway, I've been trying to get the dress stocks back up so at least my clothes rack is full;
I'm also constantly working out how I'm going to set my stall up so that I can actually fit people in - it's only 2m x 2m so quite a challenge. I'm going to put some masking tape down on the loungeroom floor soon so I can "see" the space instead of just imagining it.
I'll have my clothes rack so don't really think I'll be able to fit a table in too, so was thinking I could pilfer from the kids.
This toy box can be my storage as well as a seat:
and this bookcase will be great as a display and also to have things sitting on top:
What I'd really love is one of these ladder shelves:
anyone have one I could borrow for a week ??? or seen a cheap one for sale ???
I've also just found something that I think will look really great on the walls but I'm not going to give that away just yet...
(P.S. If anyone read this post this morning and wondered where my photos were, it's because I didn't actually mean to post it - just realised when I can back to it that it wasn't a draft as I thought... see what's happening to me!!).

And the winner is.....
Thank you to everyone who signed up for my monthly newsletter, Little Diva's Latest. I cut out all the names, put them in a bowl and had Harry draw one out again. Only this time he didn't just pull one name out, he grabbed a whole bunch, but there just happened to be one left in the bowl so that was the winner.
Congratulations to Katie Weier who is the winner of a $15 voucher to my online store. You'll be receiving an email shortly.
On another note, this is what I've been up to lately. One of my very good friends recently had a baby, Ruby, and I wanted to make something special for her bedroom wall. So here it is:
I used some of the fat quarters I won a little while ago from Jenean Morrison.
It started off quite easy as I did the U first and then the Y but when I started doing the R and B it became a lot harder and very frustrating!!! So no-one else will ever be getting one of these unless they have a child with a very short name and only consisting of letters like C, I, J, L etc... Oh well, you've gotta try something new occasionally.
